The summer karate camp of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin is over. This year for a third time the summer camp was held in the resort Kamchia, close to the city of Varna. There were 534 participants from karate clubs in Bulgaria as well as guests from Russia. The managers, instructors and the main competitors of the clubs were also present. The summer camp was very important for the communication and the further developing of the relations between the different clubs throughout the country. There is no doubt that everybody learned something from the others.
The karate camp was free for the participants and all the costs were covered by the sponsor of BKKF – Insurance company "Armeez".
There were Ichigeki trainings led by Sensei Nikolai Rachev. A judge seminar was also held whose aim was to unify and improve the judgement at the tournaments.
Due to the large number of participants, the karatekas were separated in 7-8 training groups. The classes were led by Bulgarian couches – Shihan Hristo Traikov, Sensei Asen Asenov, Sensei Pavel Georgiev, Sensei Andriyan Ivanov, Sensei Nikolai Rachev, as well as Russian couches – Sensei Sergey Plehanov, Sensei Andrey Andrev, Sensei Vladimir Librovski, Sensei Viktor Gorn.
In the end there was a grade exam which is normally used as a measure of the quality of the trainings during the year. The exam was attended by 350 people, 244 passed it. The number of the failed karatekas was bigger for the higher degrees where the criteria higher. Each candidate for a higher degree was taking the exam for the lower degrees as well. That is how the exam for 1st dan was 4 hours long. The new people with 1st dan are Simen Hristov from Gabrovo, Rositsa Petrova from Pavlikeni and Atanas Zaprianov from Burgas.
It was announced at the karate camp that 6 new clubs are joining the Bulgarian Karate Kyuokushin Federation. The clubs are – Vakizashi – Varna, Ronin – Plovdiv, Shampion – Parvomai, Daimiyo – Tryavna, Academic – Svishtov, Satori – Samokov.
