International Exam for a Grade in Kyokushin – Kamchia 2010

The summer camp in Kamchia which was held from 4 till 11 July finished with an exam for a Kyu and Dan.

Kancho Hatsuo Royama IX dan kyokushin-kan The tradition of hard exams in Kyokushin was followed by Sosai Oyama’s student – Kancho Hatsuo Royama (IX dan). The candidates for a new Kyu took their exam on Thursday. After the hard exam in which the commission tried its best to get everything out of the applicants, a decision was made. kyu test - yellow belt








10th Kyu was given to 26 fighters, 9th Kyu to 46, 8th Kyu to 38, 7th Kyu to 39, 6th Kyu to 27, 5th Kyu to 10, 4th Kyu to 18, 3th Kyu to 7, 2nd Kyu to 4 and 1 Kyu to 1 karateka

The exam for the black belts was held on Friday. It continued almost 3 hours and included a test on kihon, kata and handling a wooden bar “bo”. The last part was the kumite and the applicants for 1st dan had to fight 10 sparrings each, for 2nd dan – 20, for 3rd dan – 30 and for 4th – 40. The exam took karatekas from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, Sweden. Five people couldn’t pass it and they will have the chance to try again in October, when the European Championship will be held in Varna. kyokushin dan test success dan test kyokushin-kan

2nd dan:- Anelia Asenova(Stara Zagora), Petar Martinov(Stara Zagora), Hristo Hristov(Sofia), Ivelina Banusheva(Varna), Georgi Vasilev(Varna), Dragostin Valkanov(Sofia), Zhivko Andreev(Burgas), Stilian Petrov(Stara Zagora), Georgi Georgiev(Yambol)
3rd dan:- Stoyan Dimov(Burgas), Ivan Ivanov(Burgas), Boris Gladki(Ukraine), Kak Haber Belkania(Georgia), Alexander Gogilashvili(Georgia)
4th dan:- Anzor Kyubinadze(Georgia), Goshya Samharadze(Georgia), Andri Shchegolev(Ukraine)
Congratulations to these people!
Kancho Hatsuo Royama was impressed by the organisation of the karate camp. “The first thing that I noticed in Bulgaria was the big scale of Kyokushin Karate. Everybody here is very serios about practicing Kyokushin. And this makes me happy. The whole world knows who the best nationalities in Kyokushin are – Russia, Bulgaria and Japan. I hope that you will continue practicing even harder and you will set an example for the others to follow.”
